Woody Harrelson is best known for light romantic comedies like Cheers and Will & Grace, but he is an excellent dramatic actor who pulls off action adventure heros as well as transvestites and porn kings. In fact, he was nominated for an academy award for his portrayal of Larry Flynt. Harellson's performances in Malick's Thin Red Line as Keck were so riveting that they actually made the final cut of the film. The original cut ran over 6 hours and resulted in many members of the ensemble cast being cut entirely. Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Sheen, Bill Pullman, Lukas Haas, Viggo Mortensen and Mickey Rourke were cut completely and George Clooney and John Travolta were cut to cameos. Academy Award-winner Adrien Brody's role was also cut very short. In contrast, Woody had some very meaty scenes remain, including a very compelling scene (wearing this shirt) in which he realizes that he has mistakenly pulled the pin from grenade.
For your consideration, is this vintage athletic undershirt worn by Mr. Harrelson in The Thin Red Line. It is an intentionally soiled off-white cotton in size large which looks much darker in the screencaps as the area above the uniform neck is much dirtier to simulate combat conditions. Clearly it has not been laundered since it was worn during filming. Costumer's tag is attached bearing Harrelson's name. Mineral oil was used to make it look more battle worn and to help weatherproof the actors. It has been professionally valued at $500-$850. It comes with 2 Certificates of Authenticity and a much more Affordable price of $69.
